  2. Yay!
My numbers are up again after a 2 lb loss the first week, I think it's that time of the month and I am avoiding the scale then. I usually avoid it anyway.

    Congrats!!
And just so you know, even if I don't drop by here daily, I'm doing this thing with you daily!!!

  3. Eustice, thanks for your continued support. I agree, good progress. The bigger progress is the lack of any binge-y type episodes. Used to be I was dutiful all week and then after getting weighed I'd go off and eat my face off and spend the rest of the week trying to make up for it. So far, I'm keeping an even pace in my diet and in my results.

Dylan, thanks for the continued support. Sorry to hear about the fickle numbers game. It can make you crazy. I am trying really hard not to check my weight every day. I used to be ridiculous about it.

I'm so glad to have you with me on this!!!

  4. Good going!

How accurate is your scale? Some are pretty wacky -- +/- a pound. The obvious way to test is to weigh yourself with and without a known weight (like a barbell).

    I love your videos!

  5. Hi Noisy (can I call you still that ?)! Thanks for the shout-out I love your videos and admire your video editing skills! Where do you get/learn them? The funny noises in the beginning and here and there are very well-placed. Soon you'll start your own TV channel I think. You should! You already have a whole bunch of followers who'd watch you religiously whether it comes to weight loss or other aspects of life. I for example went yesterday to the gym after I saw your note about joining one! I mention that plus my sinning with chocolate-coated cherries in my blog, too :-)

  6. Hey Jazz! Thanks again for comin' round (and representin' on behalf of the menfolk). Yeah, my scale. It's a piece of shit. And, one other thing I have not mentioned but always plays in the back of my mind... my scale is around 2.5 pounds lower than the Jenny Craig scale, which makes me think that my true weight is that much higher. ARG! Whatever, though. Just a number. The more important number is how many pounds have come off.

I never thought of testing it with a barbell. It's the kind of scale that will give me different results if I get on and off 5 times in a row, which is aggravating, and can lead to hyperweighinitis. It's a real condition. DSM IV. Compulsive weight checking. Okay, okay, I made it up. But ask around, plenty of us suffer from it!

hey kitty! how awesome to have inspired you to go to the gym!! Especially after I failed to go to the gym for another three days after I joined!! But I did go tonight (and I liked it)

Glad you guys are enjoying the viddies. I made them on my new MacBook Pro (compliments of the Qat - a supremely awesome birthday/Christmas gift). It comes with a webcam and movie-making software called iMovie. I've just been futzing around with it but I am starting to get the hang of it. It's a lot of fun.

Anyway, your slavish devotion to me and my cause (i.e. myself) is so very much appreciated! I've been checking out some of the more popular YouTube "vloggers" (god what a stupid word) and they are way better at the editing than me. They have their own little community with meta cross-referencing to each others' videos, just like we have.

The Internet is a wondrous thing!
